Bullpen Sports HQ

Bullpen Sports HQ

4.6(177 reviews)
El Segundo, CA

Rolling up its a odd look from the outside but a great inside. Walking through the garage door you see a half court to your left and shelves FULL of wax. Everything you're looking for and more. All of the sports plus magic, Pokémon, pop culture, Disney, F1, and more. Tables for ripping and all top loader and penny sleeves need. They have a fairly small but nice single selection. Apparently they have their own card shows.

Charging me tax on $10 worth of overpriced dollar cards is super annoying. Especially after I just sold you $60 worth of cards at 70%. You couldn't just be happy with a $10 bill. 🤦‍♂️... Should you charge tax on stuff that has msrp? Yes. But you shouldn't be charging tax on cards (aka singles) you just make up prices for. Edit- that's a lot of words to justify your 80 cents in tax ... 1st of all, I've never talked bad to your employee. I've simply told him that other local shops seem to figure out the tax thing so it's not impossible to figure out. 2nd - you "gave" a 60 cent card but I bought a $9 slab for $10 plus tax so ty for the "free" card but you overpriced the slab and when i asked for a better price you literally said "i don't like giving deals". I got a cgc 8.5 and psa 9 is $10.50. Thought there would be some level of leniency given the fact that i just sold you cards worth way more than i got for them. Yes the prices of singles are technically "made up", they aren't set in stone like msrp products are. If they were, you wouldn't be able to buy any cards from people. So you can explain it however you want, try to make me an evil, disrespectful cheapskate, that's fine. There's 3 other shops in the area that I have none of these "issues" at 🤷‍♂️

The spot can get really busy, right next to an IN-N-OUT so cars are consistently in and out of the parking lot. Other than that this retro store is really throwback. Games throughout the decades. Find some amazing treasures that would bring back flashbacks from your childhood. Hopefully the newer generation can appreciate the amazing games and systems available at your disposal. Affordable price and you can start building your collection with a good deal. This spot is also fair on their buy back process. Fair and balanced for me and what I had at hand. Definitely ask for more details. They pay in cash or store credit for quality products. A win win situation for everyone. Definitely check it out and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Card Addiction

Card Addiction — a trading card store that stretches across the back of Frank and Sons’ massive convention hall, and offers the quality, in-depth inventory worthy of so much space — is something of a hidden gem, given the dozens of eye-popping booths that precede it. Trust me — if you’re looking for rare and unopened Lorcana, Yugioh, or Magic: The Gathering sets or pristine single cards, head to Card Addiction before buying overpriced or less-than-mint chase cards elsewhere. Owner Kevin is warm and convivial, presenting fair prices and open to reasonable offers — but Cameron, who can be easy to miss due to his quiet demeanor, is your guide to finding exactly what you want (whether you’re buying or selling), knowing who to talk to, and even providing introductions / personally connecting you to the place, person, or — ultimately — card you need. Cameron personally “sacrificed” a rare special illustration Vulpix card in gem mint condition — one he had initially intended for his own collection — when I inquired specifically about the card and shared my passion for that Pokemon. He’s a friendly, smart, trustworthy, and generous dude — one with an encyclopedic knowledge of Pokemon cards dating back decades, but who’s more than willing to go above and beyond for any trading card enthusiast desperately looking to complete their collection, purchase something super specific and special, or trying to offload cards when life happens and you need a cash injection. Cannot recommend Card Addiction — or Cameron’s guidance — strongly enough.
