- Excellent Magic: The Gathering selection, lots of trading card options, box sets, and rare singles. - Small location, think hole in the wall (looking at Google pictures it may have been a bigger location in the past? - unsure honestly). - Lots of great retro games. Lots of Sega Genesis games/including other retro systems, great vintage game selection. Trading card boxes for storage, sleeves, hard cases, anything you would need for trading cards. There was a decent sized area for tabletop/trading card gaming. The one thing I didn't like was when I mentioned I went to other gaming stores in the valley one of the employees mentioned a bad experience about a competitor who I had just visited. However a different employee talked highly of a couple other competitors so it was an interesting hot-take, probably shouldn't be talking down on other local gaming stores is my two cents there. Desert Sky Games does trading cards really well, specifically they had an amazing selection of Magic cards.
We had an awesome time at Grail Collectibles today! We celebrated our son's 8th birthday at the shop. Chris, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. He put together personalized gift bags for all 10 kids (his idea!) The kids loved "wheeling and dealing" with him after they opened their packs. There seriously aren't enough words to describe how awesome this place is. Great selection of Pokemon and sports cards. Super clean and welcoming. Awesome spot, can't wait to get back there! Rekreation Games is by far my favorite board/card gaming store in Phoenix! With a friendly and knowledgeable staff, a clean and safe play area, and the most popular and newest games at the best prices around, it’s hard to imagine going anywhere else. If you have had bad experiences at other shops or been rubbed the wrong way by owners or employees less than helpful. Check out Rekreation games, you will make it your regular gaming destination. This Black Friday marks the 3-year anniversary of Rekreation games. I really love this place. I'm pretty sure they have a different card game going every night. It feels like it at least. If you're into Star Wars, magic the gathering, One piece or Lorcana, you're sure to find a table here.
