I've visited this store many times in the past, having been a regular for years of tournaments. Life happened, and after some time away, I’ve recently come back to play again. It’s clear that hosting quality, readily available tournaments across the popular card games is still a major focus of the store, and I respect that. While I can see some differences in how the store is run these days, I still think it's a fantastic place to shop if you're looking for popular sealed TCG products. For example, as of the most recent Pokémon release (at the time of writing), they had plenty in stock... though at a relatively high markup. I don’t blame the store for this, as they want to maintain stock and attract customers and Pokémon is insanely popular right now. The pricing is still within a reasonable range compared to other local card shops. They also carry a surprisingly wide selection of Dragon Shield sleeves for both Japanese-sized and Standard-sized cards, which is a big plus in my book. My only real complaint is the lack of price tags on many items. I’m sure there’s a reason for this, but I’m not sure what it would be. Lastly, while most of the employees offer great customer service, there are a couple who could be much better. If you're looking to play in tournaments locally in the Bay Area, this is without a doubt the place to go.

I’ve known Merced Salinas and his family for years, and they’ve built more than just a store, they’ve created a welcoming community. Every time I walk in, the staff is friendly, helpful, and truly passionate about making sure you have the best possible experience, whether you’re new to gaming or a seasoned player. The store is always organized, well-stocked, and they’re great at helping you find exactly what you’re looking for (or even suggesting something new you’ll love). It’s clear they care about their customers and want everyone to feel included and excited to play. Of the two stores in Alabama that were participating in DCCRPG Day 2024, this one was slightly closer to us so we drove from Oxford, AL to pick up all the new things. The owner of the store was kind enough to set product aside so we wouldn’t have wasted our trip and was very engaging when we arrived. The store itself is great and I’m kinda glad I live as far as I do, it would be tempting to spend a LOT of money there. Board games, toys, model kits, painting supplies, dice and more; these guys have it all. If you’re in the area and are a board game enthusiast, go shopping here! Great shop!
Went there and looked around in my daughters birthday. They all were nice. There's a bell you can ring if it's your birthday and all the employees in unison will wish you a happy birthday. Also liked their merchandise. Reminded me if my childhood with all the throwback toys and games you won't find at Walmart. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already

Absolutely love The Trading Post in Albemarle! They’re incredibly knowledgeable, have a fantastic Pokemon card inventory with great prices, and the staff is always super helpful. I brought in some cards today and was pleasantly surprised with how generous the trade-in value was. If you're into collectibles, cards, or just looking for a great local shop, this is the place to go!
We drove an hour to come and check this place our! We loved it, and we will gladly drive again. Amazing selection, good and fair prices, amazing singles and packs. Customer service was amazing and very up front guy, true class. Really loved this place. Was able to get what my little wanted, very happy!!!!
11/03/2025 👎DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. i was told over the phone they were interested in buying my Magic Sonic Card set. i drove 30 mins one way to the store, wait 15 minutes for the manager to inspect them, then he comes out to say “sir i’m gonna pass on these they just are too dirty to be sold”.. i say “well they have never been used and are brand new” he replies “oh no they have Definitely been used n very dirty, and i have some that aren’t selling “ …. 1. im a brand new customer, and you gave me zero alternatives as well as disrespected & under minded me . 2. if your products aren’t selling, just say that instead of insulting my intelligence. 3. it’s obvious there’s total miscommunication between staff and management. which in result wasted 1 hour of my life. 4. the particular set of cards i have is worth $150 mint condish, i provided an up-to-date picture of them. maybe someone can tell me where the dirt is 🧐
The Michigan Beyblade League has been pushing to grow our community, and Mel and the crew have been incredibly kind and supportive. They've committed to hosting not one, but TWO weekly events for our rowdy bunch of misfits. We could hardly ask for a better venue! The whole place has a great mix of professional and friendly, clean and comfy. And as a cherry on top the crew actually researches and invests in the hobbies they host. They stop and chat with us, ask questions, and genuinely want to learn. As a result their stock is a quality selection of in-demand products that hobbyists are hunting for. No token showing, no half measures, genuine care for their craft. Easiest 5/5 rating ever. 👍
