Out on a Whimsey is by far the BEST toy store that my family and I have ever come across. They have the absolute best selection of anything and everything a child could want. We have been going to the location in Blue Hill but since that closed we drove an extra hour out of our way to go to the Bangor location because that is just how special this place is!

There's almost too much stock in the store it's hard to walk around especially if there's many other people. Extremely friendly staff who gift wrapped our toys. Lots of jelly cat items and other stuffed animals as well as games that involve learning for small children. The small store packs a punch!

In Maine to drop our son off for college and had to stop by to buy some wax. Awesome selection of cards from all the major sports, plus some hard-to-find gems. The owner Nathan is a first class guy, whose goal is clearly to make collecting fun for the whole family. Definitely my go-to spot for sports cards when I am in town visiting my son.
