genuinely beyond unfriendly. the store admittedly wasn't what I was going in for, so I can't judge it as that. I was wanting more of a general card store, but this is a majority of Sport Cards. I knew that going in, but the outside of the store advertises more of a general assortment of card games and cards. This is a review entirely about the atmosphere of the store. it feels downright hostile. the person behind the counter just glares at you, and ignores your existence after that. there was no greeting, no communication, nothing. after reading other reviews, it seems to be that there was a change in management. definitely for the worse, it seems. highly recommend avoiding this store if you are looking for any sort of card game like Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, etcetera. Horrific.
Super friendly folks. Prices are great. Almost like it had an Arcade game of Tron in the corner with a sheet drapped over it. I uncovered it and it pulled me into a 1990's game store. The owner is very enthusiastic and passionate. We talked for quite a while and I will return soon to pickup where I left off. Dont rely on having a digital copy of your games stored away externally forever folks!!! Buy the real deal! Go support this locally owned and operated business!!!
Fantastic local shop! Great selection and amazing customer service (I called and asked if they had a particular title and they set it aside for me just in case, even though I forgot to ask them to!). Wonderful vibe and all-around great experience. Excited to visit again in the future!
This card shop owner is one of the most rude people i have met, not only did she lack the passion that comes with running a comic shop, i would ask questions about products and she would role her eyes and scoff at me. And she just sits at the counter and gossips ignoring her customers. And she sounds annoyed when asked questions like its your job??? if you dont like it just close your store. such a rude and dead environment, i would recommend to go to any other store and avoid this one
Since recently moving back to Kansas it has been a struggle finding a good card shop. We are so glad we stumbled upon Albatross. Our kids love visiting the store and demoing frisbees, while I can talk shop with Jacob (owner) and look at cards. He has treated us right from day 1 and we appreciate he treats us and our kidos. If you’re in the area stop by. They have the best price on wax and have a great inventory. Thanks for the great service and always taking great care of us. Here are some of the hits we have gotten from packs here…. Give this shop a chance, it’s a great place to grab your wax!
This is a fantastic store and space. There are comfortable couches and lots of tables and chairs for gameplay and even private rooms. Their selection is excellent, including their locally designed T-shirts. They even have a selection of free cards for new players. I highly recommend Alchemist’s Refuge.
While visiting the college, stopped by this local game shop. We found it to have a well stocked variety of games. They had MTG cards and others along with some books (which my kiddo was looking for a certain set). Although the owner didn't have the older series in house, they took the time to look it up and is ordering it and going to ship it to us. Note - our local shops dismissed us saying they just couldn't get it :( . Knowing we were visiting, also offered a couple places to eat which we tried the first recommendation and was great! Would highly recommend!
