3rd Coast Cards
Overall a pretty nice store but with some caveats. On one visit I stood for about 10 minutes waiting for help while an employee carried on a personal conversation with someone. I finally was walking away to the counter when they noticed me and asked if I needed any help. They are also understaffed a bit during busy times so be prepared to wait your turn. Also, while they have a nice card selection the individual cards are in dimly lit cabinets and very hard to see the details (especially if you have older eyes like mine). One plus is they do offer a 20% cash discount but also note that often their cards are priced quite a bit over market (TCG and ALT comparisons). They typically have some sealed options of Pokemon as well, but note they sell them at MARKET price while at the same time proclaiming that they do NOT buy sealed from customers or take sealed in trade. So make of that what you will, my other local shop I frequent sells sealed at MSRP as it should be. With all that said, again they have a nice selection and the staff is typically pretty friendly overall so I will be (and am) a repeat customer.

I’ve been collecting and playing MTG and Pokemon for almost 20 years, and I get that local shops have overhead. But even after the 20% cash discount, prices here are still noticeably above TCGPlayer market averages. The owner often defends this as “market pricing” or points to store size and salaried staff, but that doesn’t change the math. When your store’s prices regularly exceed online averages across most items, the in-store experience stops adding real value. At that point, you’re just paying extra for the same cards you could have ordered online. Giving 2 stars instead of 1, though, because the store isn’t a straight up scam like some other LCS around. Overall, it’s a clean and organized place and the staff were helpful, but I just don’t think the prices are fair enough to be inviting me back here very often. Edit: I appreciate the owner’s detailed reply. I believe any fair minded reader of my review above would come to the conclusion that I did not question the shop’s legitimacy or their costs: I’m just questioning the relative value for customers who are comparing online vs in store options. Explanations about the shop’s overhead don’t change the experience or the pricing reality for the buyers (it’s not the customer’s fault what or how expensive your shop’s supply chains and payroll are), which was the core of what I was talking about. Wishing your team the best though.
My son has recently gotten into collecting football and baseball cards and wanted to try to sell a few of them. 3rd Coast Cards is right down the street so we stopped in. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. While my son’s cards were being evaluated by the owner they showed my son the BOGO card section where he picked two new cards he was super excited about. After the owner looked over my son’s cards, he took the time (with a full store) to come out and explain why they were valued the way they were, how we could look them up on our own at home, and other tips and tricks to help my son’s collection. He was so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and offered to look over any other cards we had questions about before we paid to have them rated. Highly recommended this store, especially for anyone with kids interested in collecting cards!!!
Literally one of my favorite places to go. Such a wide selection, takes care of their customers. Everyone is friendly. It’s so nice to see kids getting to enjoy TCG somewhere, and seeing that place care for them in return. I frequently buy packs here for their selection and their prices on them, not to mention for whatever reason my pulls are freaking amazing here. The only issue I had was trading in cards here, was offered somewhere like $18 for 11 cards, took them elsewhere, and was given $32 for 5 of those cards. No biggie. I still adore the place and stop by when I can, absolutely worth my 40 minute drive.
