I went to Best of the Best Sportscards with my nephew 2 days prior to the release of their Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions elite trainer box and the worker there told us they would have plenty of boxes for Friday’s release and they wouldn’t be sold out by the time we got there after my nephew finished school. Come Friday, we get there and the same worker shouts rudely that they are sold out. My nephew loves to collect Pokemon cards, so he settled for a different box instead. On Saturday morning, Best of the Best posts on Instagram stating that they have more Prismatic Evolutions trainer boxes but they are now $109 instead of $89. So instead of selling a box to a CHILD (who loves Pokemon and card collecting) which they had in stock but lied about and told us they were sold out, they held onto extra boxes and sold them the next day at a higher price. We are very disappointed with this situation, as we’ve visited this card store frequently for years and supported this business. I work for a small business too, and taking care of your customers and being ethical goes a long way- not price gouging them. This place really takes the joy out of card collecting, especially for children who collect as their hobby.
First time in the store my girlfriend and I were greeted and welcomed by a friendly group of staff/customers. I immediately noticed the great assortment of sports cards and supplies to match. The store employees have great product knowledge & are easy to talk to. I felt part of the family fast. Prices are competitive as well. I’d recommend the shop to anyone who’s in the hobby or thinking about starting. Overall, I think this has to be one of the best shops I’ve been in for some time.
