Went there the other day because as of now this is probably the only place on island to get packs of pokemon. I won’t say I regret it but thankfully I didn’t spend too much money in there. I came in with a smile and good intentions and the owner or who I presume was the owner didn’t really seem excited to have a customer. I asked how much his packs were to which he responded “Depends “.. I asked about four different sets and he still never really told me the price but I knew what I came for and didn’t really care about the price but just going off this immediate interaction I knew I wasn’t coming back. Try being nice or at least act interested in the new customer that’s the least you can do.
I have been doing business with Al since 1989 and have only had good experiences with this shop. He has been there since another era in card collecting and is friendly and engaged. He has great values in his vintage singles. I bought a NM 57 Clemente for $150 last summer and a ‘72 Bobby Orr for $50 a few days ago. SO many businesses in OB seemed to have failed in the last 40 years and every other card shop I used to go to in NYC from the 80s are long gone. Al is still on Circuit Ave and I am certain this is due to character and love of the hobby…..
Bought ten packs of Pokémon cards. Cards were fake lol don’t buy from here if you want ur money.
