If you’re considering visiting Collector’s Den for the first time, prepare for disappointment. I walked in with my son expecting a welcoming experience, but instead encountered silence and indifference. The owner greeted me with a half-hearted “Do you need help finding anything?” but when I mentioned that I found them online and wanted to check the store out, he simply stopped talking. The awkward silence was so uncomfortable that a woman in the shop had to step in and try to salvage the interaction. The store itself is nothing like the photos online. What you’ll actually find are two large shelves crammed with unmarked, boxed comics—dirty, unorganized, and stacked without any sense of order. The few display items are sparse and carelessly piled together. Because of the lack of organization, the only way to find anything is with the help of the owner—but that’s useless if he won’t engage. Otherwise, you’re left to dig aimlessly through clutter. This was one of the most unwelcoming retail experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, the presentation misleading, and the lack of basic customer service shocking. If I could rate lower than one star, I would.
The owner of the collector’s den is very kind. The best customer services you wouldn’t find in a large corporate business. Shopping local small businesses is important.
