Comic Store West

I am a comic book newbie who has had some birthdays.... I had a lot of questions about storage and getting started, and they were patient and pleasant, it seems like a great place to be a part of. Everything was bright and new and very vibrant. I am definitely starting some subscriptions there and my next visit will be very soon! It isn't a place to search for older stuff, (in my newbie opinion) but if you have an interest in table top gaming, comics, or miniatures, it seemed top notch!

I attended the Pokemon Cup on Saturday 5/10. I was a little let down to find out that there would be no Prize Packs for entry. The tournament ran fine but as I finished up my last round I lost so I left thinking that I wouldn't make it into the top cut. I logged in today to see what my placing was to find that I actually topped 4'd. From a customer service perspective I would have thought that the tournament organizer would have reached out to me and said "Hey, you topped, you can come get your prize", since they were giving out store credit because of the lack of Pokemon products to supplement which I understand. Nope, I got nothing. They have my information from my player ID (email). That's not the real reason why I am giving this store 2 stars though. As I said at the beginning of the review, they didn't have the Prize Packs for entry. I later learned from a friend that they sell their Prize Packs that they get from Pokemon, which makes sense because other local game stores I have frequented give out Prize Packs for entry and prizing support and they still have them. It also appears that another person who went to that event has heard the same thing since they left a review right after the event. The store itself is nice which is why I didn't give a 1 star. This was my first and last visit.
