Corey's Cards & Games

Cory’s Cards and Games is easily the best local shop around not just for the huge selection of cards and games, but for the kind of person Cory is. When I first got into Magic: The Gathering back in covid, Cory was the one who helped guide me on my journey. He took the time to explain things, helped me build my first deck, and never once made me feel out of place or overwhelmed. He’s always there to listen, whether you're a seasoned player or brand new. That kind of patience and personal care is something you don’t find at most stores. What really makes this place stand out is that Cory runs his business with integrity! Everything is priced fairly and reasonably, even the high-demand stuff. He’ll order specific cards you’re looking for, just to help you finish a deck or collection. He’s always willing to help with deck building, brainstorming Commanders, or giving honest advice. And more than anything, he treats customers like people not transactions. That’s something I value the most. Cory even goes beyond just running a business. He shares moments of his life with the community. Whether it's personal stories, life milestones, or just chatting with regulars, he’s real, down-to-earth, and always approachable. That connection makes visiting the shop feel like hanging out with a friend, not just shopping. Events are well-run, the players are welcoming, and the space has a vibe of fun, fairness, and respect because that’s what Cory built over the years. It may be small but if you want more than just a store. if you want a community, fair prices, honest help, and someone who genuinely cares; Cory’s Cards and Games is the place to be.🫶🏼

Corey's shop is a friendly environment. Friday night magic has been awesome with him as the host. He allows you to test out pre con decks during Friday nights and this allowed me to see other decks in action that I was considering buying for myself. If you are a noobie to the game or an expert, this is the place for you! Once you experience his genuine and honest personality, you wont want to go to another card shop.

I used to shop at Corey’s Cards and Games almost every day, but over time the experience became increasingly negative because of the owner, Corey. While he is friendly to new customers at first, once you become a regular he decides whether to treat you like a friend or treat you poorly. In my case, it was the latter. He often made rude remarks, pressured me about spending more money, and was dismissive when I asked for help. Corey also has a habit of wasting customers’ time. He would promise to pull product, only for me to come back later and find he had either forgotten, denied I asked in the first place, or outright refused with comments like, “Why would I pull cards for you? You’re never in the store anymore.” The lack of follow-through and basic respect was frustrating and unprofessional. The worst experience I had was when Corey played a game of Magic the Gathering with me. After becoming upset, he responded to my apology with, “It’s fine, I’ll just never play with you again. You clearly have bad assessment over the game.” That summed up the atmosphere: if you’re not part of Corey’s inner circle of friends, you’re left feeling unwelcome and pushed aside. Ultimately, the disrespect and poor treatment drove me away from a store I once supported regularly.
