Game On

My girlfriend and I drove in from out of town a few months ago to look into trying out our luck by buying our first commander sets of MTG cards. We had played a few games and wanted to get our own cards to play with. We arrived during their "business hours" and nobody was there, we looked around and didn't see anyone. We tried calling a few times but no answer. We didn't get a call back until the next day and they seemed kinda standoffish that a couple noobs wanted to try to join a game or two after we made a purchase. Tolgard around the corner welcomed us, taught us a little bit about the game and made recommendations which have made many memorable nights for us.

Shop looked interesting from what I could see but it seems like they don't follow their posted hours. Update: Owner is snarky about reviews left but does admit that they don't keep to their listed hours. Did not see any information about needing to make an appointment on their website either. Probably better off spending your money elsewhere.

When I called Game On a few nights ago, I was in search for some MTG cards. And as I was speaking with the store's owner, he let me know that the store is operating on an appointment basis to assist customers amidst the pandemic. Even though I had no appointment, he very kindly offered to meet me at the store so I may make a purchase. Not only did he go out of his way to meet me at the store without an appointment, but he also gave me advice for welcoming new MTG players into the game since I'd like to get some of the students I work with interested in MTG and even gave me a bunch of MTG welcome booster packs for them. All in all, I was very impressed with the customer service I received that night and will most definitely be making more visits and purchases in the future!
