Grognard Games

We were super excited to have a Grognards in Algonquin since the only LGSs we like to play and shop at, including the Grognards in Roselle, are in a 40+ radius of the Algonquin area. Sadly our experiences haven't been great. Algonquin claimed a sale on singles was only online after we came from the Roselle location where we were told the sale was instore and online and the website had no disclaimer text specifying if it was online, instore or both. The Algonquin store is almost always empty because they're charging for tables and their nearest competitor does not. Algonquin really needs a community built up and having less tables than players before instituting a table charge. The few people we talked to who stopped in all had high hopes for playing at this store since they did not like the atmosphere at the closest competitor. Besides those, most of the staff is nice. They have a large selection of product. Since opening their expensive singles in the case has dwindled, which I suspect is due to not drawing in crowds. Its fully worth driving the 30 minute drive past the Algonquin one to the Roselle location.

Visited the store today for the first time, and the staff were super friendly! The place was clean, had a great selection of products. I went looking for some 40K stuff and was pleasantly surprised at all the various signs for "learn to play! Ask the staff" and "Learning to paint? We offer help with that". I found that super welcoming. I think I found my new hangout spot :)
