Modern Explorers Guild - Jefferson

Came into shop (Jefferson location) for first time a few weeks ago and was extremely disappointed by the customer service. The person I spoke with was abrasive and dismissive, with an off-putting arrogance. He acted like I was wasting his time and he had better things to do than answer my questions. Pricing was also higher on MTG cards than their direct competitor and they offered teribble trade-in value on even expensive cards (ones worth hundreds of dollars). When I expressed my disappointment in the trade-in value offered on a $750 card, I got an aggressive response about how the store needed to make money and then he basically walked away from me.

So I’ve had a pull list at this location since before the new owners and I’m so sad that they dropped off this bad. The big lady in the store must know nothing about comics because when I questioned her about the missing comic and 6 other random comics add she kept saying “idk he does it” or “idk he must of forgot”. I guess online will be the way I go. Sucks because I want to support local businesses.

Great for all your comic book needs. If they don't have it, they offer to help you find it. They also have board games constantly available and their other location provides a place for customers to play games with other customers who play those games. Great people and very kind. They will take their time and explain everything they can for you. Lisa has been a great help and the owner I met was a friendly and a solid dude too.
