MYTHIC GAMES Monterey

I've been coming to this shop off and on since the day it opened. It is the premier shop for MTG and warhammer in the Monterey area, with access to quality products, a team knowledgeable in many aspects of tabletop and board games, and lots of open play area. The manager is always willing to take feedback and the Warhammer community has grown exponentially. They provide a place for casual to competitive play in both Warhammer and MTG. Beyond MTG and WH40K, they also have a solid selection of popular board games, RPG books and accessories, as well as painting and gaming items. They also stock some other TCGs in sealed product. One of the key factors for this business is easy access to gaming space. There is not table charge to play and you can come in anytime during the day to play MTG or WH40k. They hold a variety of events during the week, Competitive WH events, Sunday Warhammer days, Painting clinics, Competition clinics, as well as MtG drafts, PTQs, etc.. The manager has done a great job of fostering both communities.

This is a great shop! The staff is wonderful and the people that play there are great. Whether you’re into board games, magic the gathering, dungeons and dragons, warhammer or other games, they have a great stock and they do events all the time. If you’re interested in Warhammer, stop by on a Sunday some time! People are usually playing then.

This place is simply amazing. I walked in 5years ago to check out the scene after being absent for a couple of decades. I was immediately felt welcomed by the store manager Scott who took time to discuss the new Primaris units etc. he also introduced me to the gaming club that cultivates a community of like minded and great players. Once I had my army painted players went out of their way to play introduction games with me until I was comfortable. They have grown into having a community tournament group (with matching Mythic shirts!) so when we go to tournaments we can feel like we’re supported :)
