Nakama Toys

Was looking for a place that sold the tamagotchi paradise that came out recently. They had a good amount in stock for msrp, while Walmart and Amazon were upselling by 2x-3x. Really appreciate being able to buy these here! Good location, just a walk down from the blue line. Stock on their online shop seems to be accurate to what they have in store. Was able to call and ask to confirm if they had the item in stock. Recommend anyone that wants to buy Japanese toys to go here.

For my Gundam people visiting Chicago from Missouri/Kansas you MUST stop by here. I found this place online after searching for hobby shops since I was visiting Chicago for a vacation. They post very frequently on social media and there’s plenty of inventory of kits. All grades including mega size are available but what I love the most is that they carry some Pbandai kits. That’s right! Those monochrome boxes you can only get back in Japan? Right in Chicago. It’s not an extensive selection but there’s plenty to choose from. Online shopping is also an option if you can’t go in. The owner was really nice. She talked to me for awhile and told me how often they get new inventory. She was incredibly nice and informative. I managed to get one MG on my first visit and then a HG on my second visit. It was very close to closing time on my second visit but she let me in and I made my purchase. I could have spent hours in there. Multiple walls of kits. And even if you don’t like Gundam there’s other things they sell to satisfy your anime heart like Naruto and one piece toys, models, collectibles and the like. They don’t ship perfect grades but everything else is fair game. I will definitely be stopping by here again when I return to the city. Go go go if you can!

Was fortunate enough to finally check this store out. Has a decent variety of figures, mostly One Piece and a couple Dragon Ball figures, but can also find figures from various animes. The staff was nice and respectful. Was ready to help with our questions. Picked up these nendroids that I've had my eye on. Was cheaper to purchase here than BigBadToyStore. Huge gunpla selection. Will be returning to this establishment and will recommend it to my friends and family.
