Power 9 Games

The recent release of Spider-Man Magic cards got me interested in the game. I ended up preordering a box from this store and when I went to pick it up the same box was being sold for much less. I asked if there was any way to get the box for the price it is now available for. I was told no and was told I could not return it. I read through their policy on their website and it said nothing specifically about pre-orders not being returnable. Either way I was ready to buy a few other items but with the shortness and rude response to my question I opted to just leave. I don’t plan to be back and I would not recommend someone go to this store. The staff had no interest in talking or discussing the issue and they don’t seem as interested in following their own policy quoted here from their website: “We ask that you give us the chance to work with you to make things right should an issue arise…” The statement online continues to say that some transactions are irreversible, which is plausible but this felt more like they could but just didn’t want to do something about it. Could have been laziness disinterest, or they saw someone who was inexperienced in this field and could just let me walk. The store made an extra chunk of money and were fine to do that rather than work with someone. The interaction was short and the employee was rude throughout. This store was not entirely welcoming and even before I asked about the price I felt like I inconvenienced the worker. They were not happy to be there and maybe took that out on me.

I’ll usually never write a review unless warranted so here it goes. Stopped in the store for the first time to try buying a card wait in line for help, captain neck beard snaps and tells me I need to punch it into there system which fair enough I’ve never been before so I did. Afterwards he makes 2 comments as I’m walking away to do so? Passive aggressive for 0 reason it was insane, anyway I punch the single into the system and find it checkout and go back up to the counter. Which I think my experience can’t get any worse but it does like so much worse. Wait 5 minutes to be helped because an employee was having a personal conversation, she then tells me they’ll do 80% on trade in which I agree to but when I give them a $60 bottom of the market card they offered me $28 in store credit so either they have horrible customer service and can’t do math or horrible customer service and try to rip you off . Wouldn’t recommend ever coming here seeing as it’ll be my first and last time there. I recommend 888 collectibles, commander games, legacy trading cards . Beware hereeee

Power9 is overall a great store, but I usually have mixed experiences when it comes to the customer service. I either have a pleasant encounter or everyone working there is having a bad day. I never know what I’m going to get. Prices are usually higher than other stores when it comes to Pokemon and Magic, but they have a great selection of singles online. Store and bathrooms are pretty clean and there’s plenty of space to play. I never had a problem getting a seat.
