The Card Wizards

Fantastic shop! You can tell whoever runs the store is extremely OCD and keeps things very organized and rotates the inventory around to draw your eyes exactly where they should go. Fair prices, nice employees. Is the store the craziest with insane inventory of a bunch of out of print items and crazy stuff that you've never seen before? No. But the prices and how streamlined the store is to find what you want completely make up for that. Good stuff, I wish there was a store like this for every hobby I have. Very impressive for how new the store is and I hope the companies that allocate the amount of stuff certain stores get access to let this guy get a bunch of stuff and access to the best stuff for the community to strive.

Yesterday I went to the new Card Wizards location for Spider-Man Prerelease and ended up staying there for 12 hours… and I’d do it again! This location is miles ahead of their previous location. It’s got lots of space for people to play and hang out without having to squeeze by each other. The parking lot is much nicer and bigger. The AC actually functions and keeps the place nice and cool. The tables are nice, and the chairs are comfortable. I sat in those chairs all day and my 40 year old bones aren’t screaming at me this morning. They’ve decided that having a clean space that’s decorated with framed magic posters and well lit by the many can lights is better than having a dark and musty dungeon card shop… and I agree. The atmosphere of Card Wizards is inviting and friendly. AJ and Ben were greeting customers, answering questions and always available to help. Many people came in just to check out the new location and were easily able to find a commander pod to join or just grab a few packs to crack. By the evening there were 4 or 5 commander pods in full swing and everyone was having a great time. The prerelease event itself ran smoothly. Ben gave clear instructions and kept things moving. Prize support was great and let everyone walk away with something. I highly recommend Card Wizards to anyone that’s looking for a fun and welcoming place to play. They are really elevating the Joplin Magic scene and the community will be better for it.

I have never once had a bad experience being in the store, the owners and workers are always helpful and so incredibly polite and charismatic, I have continued to use their store as a place to buy, sell, and play magic since they first opened and will absolutely be following them to their new store
