From a single convention table to a full brick-and-mortar, The Dragon’s Hoard is a community hub with one of the most diverse selections in the region. The Dragon’s Hoard has been serving gamers since 2000, when our doors first opened in Staunton, Virginia. But our story began long before then. Harry and Susan Shiflett were traveling up and down the East Coast as early as the 1980s, bringing tabletop roleplaying games and accessories to conventions and building a reputation for passion, expertise, and a love of gaming that continues to this day.

A little small and cramped, but they've got a great selection! My husband and I love digging through the d&d minis for treasures. Great options for board games and d&d books as well!

The store had a strong moldy odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in for more than a few minutes. While browsing the Magic: The Gathering binders, I noticed they were poorly organized, and most cards were not sleeved, leading to visible wear and damage. None of the cards had visible price tags, and the individual at the counter manually priced each one upon request. This led to significant inconsistencies for example, a card valued at approximately $10 was priced at $20, while another worth $20 was priced for $11. This inconsistency made it difficult to shop with confidence. Additionally, I found a card from the Unhinged set, which is not tournament-legal. After checking online and finding it valued at approximately $0.50, the staff member offered it for $3 simply because he couldn’t locate a reference price. This raised concerns about fairness and transparency in their pricing process. Overall, due to the poor card conditions, lack of organization, inconsistent pricing, and unpleasant environment, I would not recommend this store to collectors or players looking for a reliable shopping experience.

Stopped in while traveling. I have never seen such a good selection of minis, paints, supplies, and board games, in any hobby/games store. I found a lot of accessories and paint brands I had only ever previously seen online. Was extremely impressed. Lots of game space in the store. Highly recommend and was happy to support them while passing through.
