Been going here since it opened last year, owner is super nice, participated in several D&D and paint and take events. Board game selection is good and changing regularly. There is something for everyone. So happy to have a friendly local game store to pursue my hobby. Recommend you check it out.
Finally found a good place for collectibles in OC. Clean and well organized. Helpful staff. Spent about an hour in there today talking with who I presume is the owner. I bought a big load of stuff and he worked with me a bit on price even though his prices were already very competitive to online comps. Will be back here probably every week. If you're in the area, and you like Funkos, Pokemon, One Piece etc. this is a must visit.
They have the most quality selection of old comics that I have seen to date, Randy also buys comics so if your selling there also great for that. There prices are more then fair for the quality of the 30-50 year old comics your purchasing. Great selection they have anyone you could think of.

Charging me tax on $10 worth of overpriced dollar cards is super annoying. Especially after I just sold you $60 worth of cards at 70%. You couldn't just be happy with a $10 bill. 🤦♂️... Should you charge tax on stuff that has msrp? Yes. But you shouldn't be charging tax on cards (aka singles) you just make up prices for. Edit- that's a lot of words to justify your 80 cents in tax ... 1st of all, I've never talked bad to your employee. I've simply told him that other local shops seem to figure out the tax thing so it's not impossible to figure out. 2nd - you "gave" a 60 cent card but I bought a $9 slab for $10 plus tax so ty for the "free" card but you overpriced the slab and when i asked for a better price you literally said "i don't like giving deals". I got a cgc 8.5 and psa 9 is $10.50. Thought there would be some level of leniency given the fact that i just sold you cards worth way more than i got for them. Yes the prices of singles are technically "made up", they aren't set in stone like msrp products are. If they were, you wouldn't be able to buy any cards from people. So you can explain it however you want, try to make me an evil, disrespectful cheapskate, that's fine. There's 3 other shops in the area that I have none of these "issues" at 🤷♂️

Sold fake enchanteds and wouldn’t refund me a while back. Do not go here as they don’t check their inventory for fakes and probably couldn’t check for one. EDIT: I don’t live local, I bought an enchanted The Queen - Diviner on August 28th while coming through TN. I tried to sell the enchanted at another LGS after the price went up cause it was played in a couple decks. The LGS told me and showed me signs to look for via loops how to notice a fake. They confirmed the enchanted was in fact a fake. Went to cadets later that week for a refund and was turned away. I just got informed today that Cadets are denying the interaction ever happened- which is why I’m editing the review. I have receipts and pictures. They didn’t care. Would NOT go back.

I’ve been into the gaming scene for many years, whether it’s TCG or Tabletop. I’ve played in professional circuits for both as well as having experience hosting plenty of events for both public and charity. I am also a founding creator of a 350+ people community that connects people within the entire state of WV and surrounding areas to local game stores throughout. Cardboard Coliseum is one of the most welcoming and friendly stores I have ever had the pleasure of going to. The store owner here is nothing short of an honest and good person with the upmost respect from everyone who visits his store and gets to meet him. The store is a clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of space for gaming. I have had the pleasure to not only meet but play with the local players here. They are an amazing player base, everybody is so welcoming and ready to help new players. This is a rare thing to find in today. Tucked away in a beautifully quiet little town with a very interesting history just dead center of the state. This is for sure on of my top recommendations to stop at. So much so that I regularly drive here over an hour away weekly to play with friends and family as it’s a great halfway place for all of us. Now…. These one star reviews you see… These were made by players looking to prey upon small communities and scalp rare event cards away from them, only so they can turn a profit for greed . They would much rather think about themselves and destroy a small community. They decided to scalp from another store first and race to this one to do the very same. Making an excuse to extend the start of a tournament, the owner decided to welcome them and extend the start time, but clearly, professionally, and politely told them no later. These two players, then proceeded to try and argue for another extension, even to the point of eluding directions and roping him along on the phone trying to delay the event yet again. He extended yet again. They showed up after the delay and continued to try and argue their way into the event after it started. Once he stuck to his word and the rules of the event.They proceeded to hurt a local small business owner by falsely accusing the store of being unprofessional and unclean through their bad reviews… This is a disgusting display of the toxicity plaguing the gaming communities and shouldn’t be welcome anywhere. To Cardboard Coliseum- Thank you so much for providing the environment that you do and the player base that you have.
First time here was a great experience. A taller gentleman with glasses assisted me and was super helpful and pleasant. Second time was not so great…a shorter male working the counter who seemed to be around 20-24 years of age was rude and disrespectful. This caught me off guard as my first experience was great! It is saddening to drive over an hour and a half to visit a card shop just for an employee to behave unsatisfactory. I still highly recommend this shop for the selection and helpfulness (depending upon who is working).
