We had a great time competing in the local X-Wing miniature tournament. This location has ample room to hold many gaming events at once as well as a good selection of products. The staff are also very kind and willing to help.
Store is setup good but comic selection is horrible, if you want books that's picked through from last year it's your store.... The guy behind the counter knows nothing about comics. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait while the guy looks up the price for any older books. Horrible 2 experiences. Just go to Bob's or Sanctum comics downtown if you are looking for a real LCS.
The Geek Shack is the only place in Southern New Mexico where TCGs (Trading Card Games) and tabletop games are the main event. This place is always bustling with events and activities. On my last visit, they were hosting a Magic the Gathering tournament. They have an extensive collection of Pokémon cards at very competitive prices!!!! If you have questions or need advice, every staff member is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely loves their job. If you are just starting, or a seasoned veteran or looking to sell your cards, this is the only location in the Las Cruces and surrounding area. Check out their Facebook and social media pages for times of the next event. They have plenty of tables for very large groups.
This store is overpriced. I spent half an hour to 45 minutes going through their bullk mtg cards and they went through my stack card by card checking TCG MID for each card. I have never experienced a store charging me full price for unsorted bulk cards. Their products on store shelves are also marked up more than your average game store. Do not recommend. It is clean and has a big selection so they get two stars for that I guess.
