Really disappointed in this place. TLDR. They lost my respect for not selling products at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) anymore. Spent thousands here for that reason. But now you lost me, and a lot of my friends' patronage. Why? It used to be a go-to for my friends and me due to the most competitive prices for Magic the Gathering packs; at MSRP. We looked past the dinginess only because at the end of the day, we are spending money on seal packs of cardboard. But the most recent week's have put a very sour note to my appeal of this place, and I cannot recommend them anymore. One of the first instances of us beginning to lose faith in the business was one of my other friends (a Pokemon TCG collector) noticed they are selling Pokemon sets at a markup price (he says they are at second hand prices ie were selling Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection at $210 then the week after selling it for $190). I, along my MtG enthusiast friends were defensive of this because in the end of the day, they were still charging low rates for Magic. So maybe it was a fluke and only on specific products? A perfect example was they sold a Tarkir Dragonstorm Collectors Box at MSRP to us; which was considered near impossible to do at the time. Now comes Final Fantasy. We had faith that they would be honorable and sell this set at also MSRP, like they have always been. I went to the store when they opened at the day they were selling hoping to spend a lot for my group. But as the first customer in there, the owner, who recognizes me, told me he is selling one FF Collector Box for $800 (MSRP is $450), Collector Booster $70 (MSRP $38), Booster Bundle $90 (MSRP $70). I understand at the end of the day, it is business, and you need to make money, and FF is considered now to be one of the most popular sets for Magic, but this is unacceptable, and a huge loss of faith to me and my group to just pretend you don't know what you're doing in terms of price fixing. When asked why it was so expensive, the owner pretended they don't know the price of things and are just guesstimating the price based off the order they made. That doesn't make sense. You can go to other stores in the area nearby and they are selling these products at MSRP. I even talked to them and they told me they are doing their best to keep it close to MSRP. So I don't understand why upcharge people only because they know they can. You are ordering the product, you should have the invoice, and know the price of the product and the margins to make to make a decent profit. WotC even now has MSRP for a lot of the products now, so you can't just pretend you don't know. We spent so much money at this establishment because we just wanted to support a local game store. But the sheer greed that has been shown by the owners in recent weeks has really put a sour note to my perception of this place. All I can think is I cannot support a business who is up charging customers so they can use the money they make to go gamble it away at Vegas or Jersey City (the owners have told me they go a lot on their vacation days). I wish them luck. But this is now me saying I cannot support this business unless they fix their ways.
