THE place to go in RVA for YuGiOh and harder to find TCGs and old school collectibles. Other shops really prioritize pokemon and MTG but if you actually wanna play your card game or don't wanna be condescended to for not playing the "smarter" games, go here!! I travel from the East End to come here just because it's that unbearable to go to any other shop for the game I wanna play.
This place is shady and the vibes are bad. They make It seem like you should be grateful you’re even allowed in their store. My final straw was when the presumable owner changed the price of a Pokemon ETB I was buying while I was already at the register, claiming he couldn’t sell It for the price listed. You can’t just increase the price of something once you realize someone wants It. There are much better options in Richmond with better prices, don’t go here!
First time going here and as much as I want to like the store because I appreciate smaller businesses and the table-top space, the workers just ruin the experience. I only asked two questions while I was there and both times they seemed annoyed at the fact that I would even ask them. One was about if they do trade-ins for cards, which I got a very short & stern “No 😐” for, even though I was literally just looking at their display case with obviously traded in Magic cards in them that they were selling. The other was about if they do military discounts, to which the other worker checking me out just gave me an annoyed look and head shake. They got my business this time but won’t be getting it again. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because I got what I was looking for and it’s in decent condition.
