Shannon is absolutely amazing! She went out of her way to help my autistic son get some Pokémon cards, which are his newest obsession plus he has such a passion for it… especially his favorite, Pikachu! You can tell Shannon genuinely cares about her customers and she has such a passion for helping kids get into the game while making sure they have a safe and welcoming place to learn and play. Beyond Pokémon, they have an awesome selection of collectibles like Funkos and comics, and they host a variety of trading card game tournaments that bring the community together. This is more than just a store—it’s a place where people and their hobbies are celebrated. Thank you Shannon, for everything you do! Positives first; I'm an advocate for shopping local when it comes to trading cards, and I think this store has a lot of fun inventory that I would encourage people to check out. You can find a decent deal on things if you know what to look for and the owner seems to be comfortable with negotiating prices on certain product. Now negatives; the "boss" is rarely in and it is my experience that the employee who is usually behind the counter is unable to buy or sell damn near everything when this is the case. If the owner is not present, and you're there to negotiate, sell, or look for ANYTHING in a bulk bin, good luck. In my experience he's rarely in. Unfortunately, I've also felt like the employee has aggressively shadowed me for loss prevention (which I get), made abrasive attempts at up-selling me on cards, and has made pretty presumptuous statements about what I may or may not be into every time I've shopped there. I think there are other stores near / around Painesville where you will be treated with more dignity and respect, and get a bigger bang for your buck without any hassle.
Went in to get some information about the local Pokemon scene and left with answers to questions I didn't even know I had yet. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Thanks, Chip! Edit: I went back a second time and I cannot overstate how exceptionally helpful and kind the staff at this shop are. You can tell that they are extremely enthusiastic about trading card games and just want other people to be as excited as they are.
